FORT-WORTH: – – – You can’t just rely on small moments of greatness, it’s the truth. It’s how games are won.
The Hawks like they have so many-time’s before in the season, played some good defense through-out Saturday afternoon’s loss to Polytech at Alan Billingsley Field-House , but ultimately they couldn’t find the answers offensively; that is despite some late second half mini-runs. Polytech, though the victors in what was a hard-fought game, on both -sides of the floor did have some trouble closing this one out on the Hawks; this is what helped the Hawks during these small moments of greatness.
Basketball is a fragile sport, meaning that something as simple as one given up second-chance point could come to haunt your team later on in the game.
– – – The offense, though probably when it comes down to it in this game for Birdville is one of the key reasons why they lost this game, isn’t the only one.
– – – The Hawks gave up too many second-chance’s, though luckily, not all of them were converted successfully for Poly, but you don’t win basketball games on luck.
– – – Rely on nothing, and play smart basketball those are the recipes for success in basketball. Though, I do feel it should be reminded, this team is younger, and based on what I’ve seen in covering them this season, they’ll be okay, they’ll learn.
