Why is prayer important?

This was originally posted to my Facebook, but I don’t want to exclude any from being able to view this.

God knows everything, so what’s the point of praying if God already knows what you are going to ask him?   Indeed God knows everything, as he’s omnipresent (don’t try to wrap your mind around this).. but I think because we don’t know everything, we have worries, fears, uncertainties, which we then go to God in prayer to address.  Another reason we pray, or another reason prayer is important is to give glory to God, this is quite biblical as you might imagine. God deserves our worship, and giving him praise in prayer is a supreme act of worship.  Prayer along with reading scripture helps us to know the Lord, better, unfortunately, lot of people only pray when they’re in trouble.  Prayer, to  me is mostly important because I don’t know how anyone can make it without a weapon, not in this evil, sick world. With the two most important weapons, we can kick Satan’s rear-end to the glory of Jesus Christ.  Don’t wait to be in trouble to pray, don’t delay, pray now.. be a prayer warrior.

CHRISTmas

Christmas is almost here, and this time around I feel a deeper passion for the holiday season.  This time, I feel differently about this holiday.  This time, I feel like it’s the road to Easter season.  We can’t have the crucifixion without him having first been born into this world.  Christ came to save sinners, and that’s what  he did crucified on the cross, he saved us from eternal damnation.   That’s what he’s doing now, with his sacrifice on the cross we are being saved,  Lord have mercy we will be saved when he comes to judge us faithfully.    This Christmas season, I invite you all, Catholic or not to participate in the blessed sacrament of Holy communion.  The Lord Jesus Christ is waiting for you with his arms open.   “While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”   Matthew 26:26
