Sean Lee on crutches, awaiting MRI results COWBOYS BEAT BLOG

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was on crutches because of a sprained toe suffered in the third quarter of Sunday’s win at Carolina, the Cowboys aren’t ready to make a decision on his status for next week’s game vs. the New York Giants, as of press-time.

Lee had an MRI on Monday, and Coach Jason Garrett said later in the afternoon the team was still awaiting the results.  It is  not clear  whether Lee had suffered a turf toe, or not.

If  Lee can’t play, then Dan Connor would start right next to Bruce Carter,  Connor had two tackles and a deflection taking over Lee  against the Panthers.

If Lee can’t play, Carter would get the defensive calls from coordinator Rob Ryan.

“Bruce has really improved and grown and matured each week,” Garrett said. “You can see it in his coverage. You can see it in the run game and see it as a leader in how he communicates. He had more responsibility (after Lee was hurt), and I think he handled it well.”
