Birdville Men’s Varsity Basketball proves they can hang with top ranked Texas HS Basketball team, despite the loss for the Hawks, they still have a lot to be positive about

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS:    Sometimes, it may just be possible to feel like you won a game, when really you lost the game.   For the Birdville Hawks, who lost to the ninth ranked team in the state of  Texas, that may hold true, for now anyway.

It says a lot about you’re team when you can give a really good basketball team, like Denton Guyer a run for their money, even if you lose.

— And on Tuesday night,  that’s exactly what Birdville’s varsity basketball team did in front of their home-crowd.    —  Despite suffering this defeat, though, there is plenty  for the Hawks to keep their heads up for.

Birdville really found out a lot about their own identity, as they stuck with the ninth ranked team in the state of  Texas for the entire game.   “You have to play good teams to get good” said an impressed Coach Jeff Fitch.      Sometimes it’s losses like these that Coach’s can deal with, as long as it doesn’t happen all season long, that is.           Birdville’s early successes were   thanks to their hot-shooting.

— Sophomore guard Andrew Sorrells helped make the game close, as he hit  4 three pointers in the loss.    This was a bounce-back performance for the guard, who went 1-8  in  a win on Friday night’s game at Joshua.    — While we’re at it, let’s not forget to add Junior Guard Jeremy Crane, who  also helped out as well in this game, as he also had a solid-night in Friady night’s win over Joshua.

The Hawks are only three games into the season, and despite this loss, and their loss at Azle, they have a lot to be positive about.     — Sometimes,  if you have some talent, and mix it with some  positivity    you could go a long-ways, the Birdville Hawks may just have that.
