THOMAS COLISEUM:  THEY CALL HIM G-DUBB, but his real name is Aaron Hughes.  The Birdville Hawks varsity basketball team rushed the court as time expired, and as Hughes’ bucket went in for the Hawks.   — As you can probably tell by the previous sentence, the Birdville Hawks did win this game, but it wasn’t easy. The Hawk’s only gave up 7 points at the end of the first quarter, which Coach Fitch told his team was “a great defensive quarter”, than came the 2nd quarter, which wasn’t to good for Birdville, who
“gave up 24 points in the 2nd quarter” according to (Coach Fitch).

The Hawks, by no means necessary were done in this game.

—
Than came the 4rth quarter, where it happened, the Hawks won it, and with the win will play: North Western High School on Friday (12/2/11) at the Thomas Coliseum at 4:00 P.M.
Jalen Murphy led the (Hawks) in scoring in Thursday afternoon’s Tournament game vs. O.D.W.

FOSSIL RIDGE:   The Hawks came into Tuesday night’s game after suffering a 20 point blowout, in which the final score was 60-40. — Birdville played it safe the first 3 quarters of the game, but let Guyer take over in that 4rth quarter. — “This game’s our’s, we blew it in the 4rth quarter  vs. Guyer, let’s go out there and take care of business in the 4rth this time” Coach Jeff Fitch told his team, before the 4rth and final quarter in what would be a close loss to the Panthers.

—–
The Hawks had the ball down 3 numerous times in  the 4rth quarter, with chances to tie the game, but failed to. “We had chances to tie this game, but the 3 pointers just didn’t fall in for us” said Coach Fitch after the game.    —  The Panthers won the game 48-41 in Tuesday night’s close game.

Cris Sawyer led the Hawks in scoring in the loss with 16 points, Jimmy King had 8 points, Aaron Hughs had 6 points.

* Coach Fitch said that Jeremy Crane gave him his best minutes on the court in the game.

*Fossil Ridge wasn’t afraid to shoot it from 3, the Panthers light it up from downtown in Tuesday night’s game, though the Hawks didn’t give up as many 3 pointers in the 2nd half as they did in the 1rst half to the Panthers. — “They’re going to shoot 3’s because they have good shooters, and because they can make it” (Coach Fitch, again)

7TH Grade Basketball: Richland @ Smithfield Basketball blog, game article. 11/28/11:
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS: “A win’s a win” according to Coach (Anthony Holman), the Smithfield Raiders beat the Richland Rams in Monday night’s game which was a 48-34 victory.

— The Raiders started the game early out strong, and took advantage of a few Richland turnovers, which led to an 18-5 end of the first quarter lead.   — In the 2nd quarter, the Raiders gave up more than they did in the 1rst quarter, getting outscored 13-11 at the half, but they still had what was a 29-19 lead.

— “Offensively we’re doing the right things, but defensively, we’re giving them easy stuff, that needs to change in the 2nd half” Holman told his team in the locker room at halftime.           — Well, it did for a little bit at least, at the end of the 3rd, the Raiders this time, didn’t allow as many as they did in the 2nd quarter, only allowing 6 3rd quarter points, the Raiders meanwhile on offense, were led by John Walker and Trevor Shelton who combined  for  a game total of 22 points.

The Raiders improve to 2-0, while the Rams, go to 0-2 on the season.
