1 John 2:15-17 “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life comes not from the father, but from the world. The world and it’s desires will pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” There are a lot of things that verse doesn’t say. It doesn’t say to not love the people of the world. Look at verse 16. Notice it says everything in the world, the lust of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life don’t come from God, but from the world. In verse 17, it goes on to tell us that the all the things of the world, and the world itself will eventually pass away. God doesn’t want you running after something that he knows will leave you empty, he wants you to run after him because he is everlasting, everything else is temporary. Piece of advice: Don’t love the world.
