Lent’s not over yet

Lent isn’t over yet.  – – – There’s still time to make up if you’ve had a lack luster one, holy week is coming around, starting on April 13-20.  If you have been having a weak lent, that’s the date to remember, and  remember this, remember that you are never alone.  You aren’t alone when carrying your cross,  Christ has already been there, he knows your pains.

You aren’t alone in the desert, either.  “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil.”  (Psalm 23)

No matter what you are going through this Lent, or Pre Easter season, the Lord Jesus Christ said “It is finished” as he would eventually prove to reign victorious over death on the cross.  If you have had a weak Easter, if you haven’t surrendered it all to Christ, if you haven’t joined him in his suffering yet, now is the time to do that.

The theme of the Easter season is always death, because without death there is isn’t any life.    – – –  We must follow our Lord through the pain of the crucifixion, and then we can follow him through the joy of the resurrection, that’s faithfully following him wherever he goes, wherever he calls us, to do whatever he calls us.   For those unfamiliar with Lent, think of it as Spring Training; back to the basics of the faith.  That basic, you ask?:  Death to self.
