St.Louis Dispatch Rams beat-writer (Jim Thomas) reports that, the Rams agreed to terms with a pair of free agents Monday. Wide receiver Steve Smith (formerly of Philadelphia), and tight end Matthew Mulligan formally of the New York Jets. Thomas reports that Smith’s deal is for one year, and Mulligan’s is for two years.
Smith had a break-out season in 2009, when he set a New York Giants franchise record with 107 catches, good for 1,200 yards, (second highest in Giants franchise history), and made the Pro-Bowl all in the same season.
