Ryan Vogelsong is in rehab mode right now, for a few weeks. Though the Giants haven’t really expressed much concern yet, Vogelsong says he’s coming along.
Either way, there isn’t much pressure on Vogeslong, who is entrenched in the rotation, regardless of how the next few weeks go.
Last year around this time, things we’re different for Vogelsong:
“When you’re growing up you don’t see yourself struggling and getting booed and having nights where you can’t sleep because you can’t figure out what’s going on,” Vogelsong said. “To finally be helping a team and to be counted on to win big games – that’s the part that felt good.”
Anyway, here are some other notes from Wednesday:
— Vogelsong said contract negotiations were quick and easy and he was just trying to get what was fair, he said the feeling on both sides was mutual: “Let’s get this thing done.”
And once it was, he moved on. “The contract isn’t going to change the player I am or the way I prepare,” he said.
Janie McCauley of the Associated Press reports that reports that Pablo Sandoval’s “formal weigh-in” is schedulled for Thursday.
Buster Posey didn’t catch any bullpen sessions today. Instead he spent that time doing agility drills on an adjacent field.
— In this piece about Jonathan Sanchez, the former Giant says, “It was my time to move on.”
